Nokia N800 Internet Tablet Review Part 2/3
Hi, this is Chris Gohlke from Digital Home Thoughts and this is part two of our look at the Nokia N800 internet tablet. In this part we’re going to be taking a look at the hardware itself and I want to start off with just getting a little size comparison. Well, as it turns in Thunder DS, these are about the same size. It’s at standard definitely as you can see but roughly the same size which I found helpful for trying to find things like a nice case that worked out well for me with this.
Let’s start out on the front by taking on our little tour of the hardware and on the front we’ve got a directional keypad with the select button and then we’ve got a back menu and home button. Of course at the top we’ve got plus or minus buttons which are alternatively used on different applications for things like volume intro or zooming in and out. And then now we’ve got a dedicated full screen button and here we’ve also got power button.
On the left side of the unit we’ve got a pop out camera. Normally it pops out facing towards you but it also rotates around so you can use it either for video conferencing or for taking photos. Down the other side we’ve got the stylus, it pops in and out, a headphone jack, also a microphone and a power adaptor plug. The units were myself has got a flip out kick stand which has two different positions and when you pop it out it also shows you that you’ve got your USB connection and then also across the bottom an SD card slot.
Move on to the back, pop it open, there is a second SD card slot in the back and that was one of the main features I really like about the sheen and over the newer N810 unit and then of course the diary. We’ll go ahead and pop this back together and one of the other things that was nice and I liked about this unit over the N810 was the front fire speakers and we’ll take a look at this a little more in our next part which where we’ll take a look at the software. So this has been part two of our look at the N800 and this is Chris Gohlke for Digital Home Thoughts.
