Nokia N82 - Review
Nokia N82 is a candy bar Smartphone targeted for multimedia usage. Looking in its features, it is very to the N95 but comes with the great sound and flash for the five megapixel camera which held it won the first place in our recent Camera Phone Comparison.
The design of the N82 with slight small keys and glossy navigation buttons is untypical for a Nokia. Still the keyboard is okay, but definitely not the best one for the heavy texting crowd.
On the right side are the camera shutter keys, the gallery shortcut and the volume rocker which also acts as it zooms. Typically for a high class Nokia they are all illuminated when the software is active, the stereo speakers which held the word sounding and now as good as those of N95.
On the other side are the microUSB connector, the microSD slot and the charger port while on the top are the power keys and the 3.5-millimeter jack for standard stereo headphones.
On the back is the carrot sized lens of the five mega pixel camera with sound, flash and switch for opening and closing of the lens protector. As far as software is concerned, the N82 is a typical Symbian 9.2 Smartphone with 860 interfaced and so it is identical with other phones such as the N95 for example.
It comes preloaded with engaged gaming flat form, good music player and decent one for video showing it as a multimedia device. The camera is pretty fast starting from three seconds after the lens cover is open.
The interface is as seen in the N95 with icons for the options on the right side while it is notice fast as that of Sony Ericsson phones for example it is quite convenient to use, thanks to the large options fields with text label.
The focus locks very fast due to strong assisting light which creates a red bar on the object it is target at that while it won’t be very pleasant for your friends, it will help you for getting a good result.
What ranked the N82 first when compared to the N95 eight gigabytes, the Sony Ericsson K850, the Samsung G800 and G600 and the LG Viewty was the image quality. During the day the quality is not as good as of the G600 but it’s on fire with other phones. It is not so when it comes to the night shots and when using flash. The N82 is the clear winner.
Its sound flash is better than the one of the K850 and its performance is way above the rest of the competition. In macro models, the N85 also takes very good images for the phone both with and without a flash.

It won’t disappoint you as a phone either with fast reactions and very good sound quality during a call. If you’re looking for a camera phone it is the best one currently on the market. If you are looking for multimedia device it is also among the best but you should also check out the Viewty which has DivX playback and the design that is more modern.
