Steve Rieck: So the fourth string is tuned to D open and just like we had with the A and the E string, that D is now going to be at the fifth fret of the fifth string the way be had the A, B, C, D along the fifth string. This D is exactly the same note, same octave that the fourth string starts at. And again the same whole step, half step rules apply.
So D to E is a whole step, so E is the second fret of the fourth string. E to F is a half step. The third fret is F, F to G is a whole step, so the fifth fret is G. G to A is a whole step, so the seventh fret is A. A to B is a whole step, so the ninth fret is B. B to C is a half step so the tenth fret is C and then C to D is the twelfth fret, twelfth fret is D. So again the octave open, D and then D one octave higher. So let's take a look at the chromatic notes next.
