Steve Rieck: Alright the second string is where we get into a little bit of trouble in terms of understanding the string relations. And the reason is this is going to be tuned to an open B. All the other strings that we have seen so far tuned to the fifth fret of the previous string. This B string, the second string is actually identical to not the fifth but the fourth fret of the third string.
So that B is on the fourth fret of the third string and that generally causes a little bit of confusion for people who are first learning this. So really make sure that you understand that clearly,
So starting with B as the open second string, again the same rules apply. B to C is a half step; C is the first fret, to D is a whole step. D is in the third fret, E is the fifth fret, to F is a half step. The sixth fret, to G at the eighth fret, to A at the whole step, the tenth fret. And then A to B at the twelfth fret, and back down B, A, G, F half step down to E, D, C, half step down to B. And those are the natural notes on the second string; let's try the first string as well.
Alex Lifeson Rush: Hi! This is Alex Lifeson Rush and today we are going to work on The Spirit of Radio. It starts at the F sharp which is the second fret on the high E string and it's.
