Hey everybody, DJ Ty from agiprodj.com. And today we’re checking out the Numark NS7, yes we actually have one here on the shop, pretty cool. Big shout out, big dank you for the guys at Numark for getting this to us, totally awesome. We’ve all been waiting for this thing to show up. They showed in Nam last year underneath the glass, they showed it in Nam again this year, and it was actually out. Mike the Numark demonstrator gave us an awesome demo of it as well and that’s on our youtube channel. And they have a couple of units and we we’re able to play with those at Nam too. So, here it is in our shop. This thing is cool, it is nowhere near as big as it actually looked before or it looks to some people, it’s, you know, it’s little less than 3 feet long. Shipping weight on the carton was about 50 pounds, but that was just everything. So you know, this thing is solid, it is heavy, but it’s heavy for a reason, because it’s well built. This is metal, it’s not plastic. Two motorize platters, and they use the same high torque motors that the TTX system uses, and this thing gives you an entire systems control over Sorrato itch software, which is here on my laptop. And itch is Sorrato’s embedded version of their, what everybody can buy from Rain scratch live. So, without all the onscreen controls, it gives you a piece of hardware such as the NS7 to control the things that you would normally control, you do with the midi controller or a mouse or a keyboard. And just we’re gonna go a quick over view on this video and then we’ll go at some more in depth in the future. So, you know, you’ve got all kinds of different controls. There’s a whole section of buttons here just for loops alone. There’s a section of buttons here just for hot cues alone, play, pause and cue. Pitch pin buttons real familiar on denin CD players, but you can, you can use this too to nudge them up and down. Pitch control. You can change the range of the pitch by pressing this and you can see it change on the screen, plus minus 16, plus minus 50. So there are different ranges of your pitch range from up to bottom or top to bottom. Key lock on and off, of course you know, scratch live has got key lock. Sorrato guys are known for making that pitch in time software which their key lock is based on. So you can turn the key lock on and off. It’s got controls for platter start up and platter spin down, a familiar feature on finer city jay players. Other controls here are, it’s got a reverse, which actually controls the motor. And then the center feature that Sorrato put in, were in case you got, you know, songs that’s getting ready to drop the F bomb, and you forgot that you, you play the unedited version at grandma’s 50th wedding anniversary, not cool, so, you can use that to bleep those out. Tap sync, you can actually tap out the BPM, it's’ got a thing called strip search, which we’ll gonna go and cover that later coz it’s really cool. Full mixer in the middle. Nice, nice, smooth, butter smooth optical cross fader. Left and right gains. You can pick your meters in the middle, you can put channel faders. You can pick masters as well. I don’t have this turned up because the other people on our unit would kill us. Different modes for monitoring as well. Cross fader for motor control. Separate booth out, which is wicked cool, you know, if you wanna use this in a club, you got a separate gain through your booth monitor, and then you got a master monitor as well. Three band EQs, gain for each channel as well. Control buttons on the top and we’ll go ahead and just stop this for a second so, you don’t have to put your hands above the keyboard, you can scroll through, pick a track, and then you can load it to deck A, you can pick another track and load it to deck B, and you’re all set. Let’s see, I’m gonna pick another song after those two, I can pick one, and… this says load prepare, and you can put it in the prepare deck, view prepare, and now it’s got to prepare one to up there. So there’s a lot of features that if you’re a scratch live user is really familiar to you are, are here on the NS7 and with Sorra, and with the Sorrato itch. So, we’re gonna cover ins and outs, our outputs on the back as well, and I’m not gonna have you drag the camera on there, but it’s got balance XLR outs, USB connection on the back, it’s got RCA inputs, outputs on the back for the, for the booth out as well. And then on the front panel, it’s got cross fader contour control. So it's’ got a cross hair contour, you can change the torque of the motor, from high to low. It’s actually got fader start, so those of you who are familiar with CD players with fader start capabilities, that you turn on the fader starts, I don’t think my tract cued up, it actually… so that’s what fader start does. It's got fader start which is pretty darn cool. Got a reverse hamster switch for the cross fader as well. Headphone volume knob, quarter inch input, 8th inch input for your headphones. And then on this section over here, it’s actually have an auxiliary input that you can hook up an RCA connection, so ipod, separate CD player, another sound system. Separate gain control and then a bass and treble as well. So, that’s just a brief overview of the NS7, this thing is wicked cool. It’s been a lot of fun to play with it. It’s nice to set up on in front of the mix station. Numark included this really cool laptop stand here, that’s gonna be shipping with every single NS7 as well. See here, just, hangs up the back there. And things really super sturdy, built well, it’s heavy, actually, so. Numark NS7, where these things are retailing out for 12.99, this things are awesome.
