Nurses Video Handbook - How to Give CPR

Before beginning CPR, make sure the victim's airway is open. Lift the chin by placing one hand on the forehead and one had under the chin. Then look, listen and feel for breathing. If the victim isn't breathing, give two slow breaths. Check the victim's pulse for five to ten seconds. If there is no pulse, begin chest compressions. First, expose the chest and find the breast bone. Put the heel of one hand on the breast bone and the other hand on top. Compress the chest 15 times.
