A four-point gait is used by those persons who made their weight on both legs. Each foot alternates with one crutch. It is a very stable gait. The three-point gait is used by someone who cannot bear weight on one leg. Both crutches are advanced together followed by the unaffected leg. In a two-point gait alternate feet and crutches move forward together. In addition to these three gaits there are also two swing gaits for persons who must move both legs at the same time such as those who are paralyzed or are wearing braces.
