Online Dating - How Soon Should You Take Down Your Profile?

Jeniffer: Another online dating question. When should you take down your profile? This one is from Bridgett at Nevada. Dear Den and Jeniffer, why do men continue to search online dating sites, even after they are dating someone on a regular basis? It could be one of a million reasons. Dan: Sounds like the guy is still fishing -- Jeniffer: Yeah, the grass is always greener over there, and online, there is a lot of choices, right? Dan: Well, it seems like, you are not going to take your resume down, just becuase you got a job. You keep it there in case though if you get a better job. Jeniffer: A better job comes along, yeah. Dan: But girls don't want to hear that, guys don't want to hear that there girls still waiting for them for better job. Jeniffer: That's right, and maybe he is not as serious about the relationship, as she thinks he is, right. He is not ready for commitment, right? Dan: Maybe not! Jeniffer: Like you say, he is still fishing. He is not looking for commitment, maybe he is just casual to have -- Dan: Looking for that better job. Jeniffer: Yup! Okay, and then the one I just couldn't resist, he is a lying cheating jerk, okay. Dan: Jesus! Let's don't start this. But yeah, so these are all kinds of -- these are the options. Jeniffer: So, so what is the answer to the question, when should you take down your profile? Dan: Guys, I don't know what you think, when should you take down your profile? You take it down - guys, girls, do you take your profile down right after you found somebody, do you take it down on the first date, once you go on the third date, when do you take that online profile down, because you like - you know what, I am not looking for a better one, I am locking this one in, I am liking this one. Jeniffer: My answer to that question, is when you both talk to each other and you agree that you are exclusive. Okay, and that you are no longer seeing other people. If you haven't had that conversation, you are not exclusive. Dan: But I thought we are exclusive. Jeniffer: So what do you guys think? Dan: And why?
