Andy: Hi, my name is Andy. I’m from New Jersey. I hear that online dating services are getting very popular. I’m wondering is there anything I should be worried about in finding relationship online?

Phil Rutter: Thanks Andy for your question about online dating services and things that you might want to keep in mind to reduce worry. The first thing that comes to mind is that you can find relationships and sometimes they are romantic relationships, sometimes they’re just friendships. So, what I would do is maybe look at what your expectations are of this online dating service and if you’re able to kind of back off a little bit and slow your pace, that’s going to also probably reduce some of your worry. I think one of the things that happens with online dating services is that you know you meet someone that you’re interested in, you see their profile, you see their interest, they’re attractive to you physically in the photos and you move pretty quickly. So, if you’re able to paste that and able to operate within the filters that your website’s going to use so for example I would be very hesitant to give them you private email. And most of the sites like match.com or chemistry.com will have a filter and an emailmatch.com email for you. I’m sorry so that you can actually utilize that rather than your private email.
