Okay. Let us say you want to put videos in your website, but you don’t want to go to the hassle of hosting videos yourself and at the same time you don’t want to go to video sharing sites either where you’re going to give up total control over the quality of your video as well as who can watch your video as well.
Well, if that’s you a service you maybe interested in is called ‘Uyyala backlog’. Here’s how it works. You go out, you sign up for free account and then you can immediately bulk upload as many videos as you want and these videos can be of any size, there are no file size limitations on ‘Uyyala’.
Once your videos are up there, you can customize the player that your videos will appear and you can change the color or the size of the player. In addition, you can even add a company logo or add custom branding to the player. When it comes time to put the videos in your website that’s going to be real simple, they’re going to give you some embed code, you just copy and paste it into your web page.
But you know what, what if you want to restrict access to your videos. What if you want your videos to only be able to be played from your domain? Well doing that with ‘Uyyala’ is very simple too. As a matter of fact, you can set up an entire list of domains where your videos can be played while restricting playback of your videos from anywhere else in the internet.
Now another cool thing that ‘Uyyala’ gives you are web videos statistics. Now, all video sharing sites are going to give you the number of views that your videos get. However, a view is very misleading, a lot of times of view means that your video is watched for just two seconds so in other words, someone went to your website watch the first two seconds of your video and that accounts a view and you maybe thinking that they watch the video from beginning to end when that is not the case. Well, with ‘Uyyala’ what they do is they tell you at what point in your video people stop watching. And this is a critical statistic with web video.
Now, another cool feature that ‘Uyyala’ is adding to their service is interactivity to the videos. See for example you have a website that sells sweaters and you put together a video of someone wearing one of your sweaters. Well, what the end user can do is hover their mouse over the sweater and when they click on it, it’s a more information about that sweater can appear to the side of the video. And like I said, it is free to sign up for ‘Uyyala’. However it is not free to continue using the service, currently it cost about 25 cents per hour of video view so in other words, if you upload some videos and people watch them for an hour it is going to cause you 25 cents. But again, you can try out the service for free, and if you want more information about ‘Uyyala’, the website you want to go to is uyyala.com. I am Dave Kaminski of Web Video University.
