Opel introduces the sports version of its new mid range flagship the Insignia OPC. OPC stands for Opel Performance Center which is now created Opel's strongest production model ever. At the heart of this car is a 2.8 liter turbo charged V6 engine with 325 horsepower, 435 Newton Meters of torque and adaptive all wheel drive. The showpiece Sedan from Rüsselsheim has been treated to a larger air intakes in the front apron and has a chassis that has been lowered by 10 millimeters.
In styling the car, the OPC chose a serious athletic look deciding against a brutal appearance like that of the Corsa OPC. Inside there are plenty of sporty accents, the sports steering wheel, the many OPC emblems and above all the reclining bucket seats. As for items you might want onboard there is practically nothing left to be desired.
This standard package includes air conditioning a CD radio and six air bags. The enhanced flex ride suspension allows the driver to switch between the three different modes, tour sport and OPC making the chassis stiffer, the steering more direct and the throttle more responsive. Opel reports an average consumption per 100 kilometers of a might 11.4 liters.
The Insignia OPC will be offered this fall as a notchback, a hatchback and as a sports tour pricing to start at just under 45,000 Euros.
