Outside Pitch in Baseball

Now we are going to talk about hitting the outside pitch. That's what most people with aluminum bats pitch people. So we spend a little bit more time on that pitch and the other ones. Remember when you are hitting the outside pitch, the inside pitch you hit out front, down the middle, in the outside pitch you hit almost over top of the front corner of the plate. So that's why we put the T. We put the balls same way. We are still going to try to hit the inside pitch, I mean, the inside seam, and hit it right up the middle every time.

So I will bring our hitter in here. It's the same drill; the ball is just in a different position. Make sure your hitters get in the box in the exact same spot. Okay, good swing right there. Just caught a little bit of the T, the ball still flew all the way to the outfield so he did hit the ball first. Get one more out from here. Another swing right up the middle, lot of hits up that middle and the last time, try and hit that swing, drive the ball to right side. Good swing right there over second baseman's head. Just like that and that's what we do with the outside pitch.
