All right children here we are today again, yourguitarsage for another daily installment. Another guitar lesson and today we’re going to learn Paint It Black by the Rolling Stones. I’m looking at my chart here on my screen so if you see me looking over, I’m not a weirdo. I'm just reading the chart and I'm going to be breaking this down today into a few different things. One the chords, the construction of the chart or the song, and also we’ll talk a little bit about rhythm and that sort of thing.
The concepts that I'm talking about here today if you get stuck on any of it, check out yourguitarstage.com. Check it out anyhow and you will see an E-book on there that you can purchase that will help you with all these different techniques. Also, you can find out how to get a hold of this chart. So check it out, yourguitarstage.com here we go. The chords for this are Em, B7, D, G, and A.
So if you know those basic open chords you set. If you don’t, again, check out yourguitarstage.com and I’ll show you those chords there there's E-book there that will teach you all that. Construction of the song is going to go like this. There are two—the song is in four.

Let me play it through one time first and then we’ll break it down a little bit more. So start from the top of the verse is going to go—

All right, so there we go. We’ll talk about the rhythm in a minute then it’s going to go—let me break it down into diamonds which is a whole note. It’s going to go like this—
[Demonstration]
These are split verses now for the second half. Two majors at E minor, split measure.
[Demonstration]
Here we go. On this D7 here, I’ve got my thumb up here muting that sixth string. I’m doing that for the A as well. The other chord is E minor, G. Do that from the D too. I’ve got that muted there. My E minor is open and the G of course is open.
So rhythm could be something like this.
[Demonstration]
All right there you go, fairly simple song, killer tune, and always a classic. So keep checking in everyday. I’m going to be putting up a new video and I’ll be putting some advanced lessons on here eventually as well. So keep tuning in. If you haven’t already, hit subscribe, hit yourguitarstage.com, and as always, keep practicing.
