Okay and this little pocket I have a set of real handcuffs, these are real, they’re not a toy, there is no safety latch like the toy ones have. They’re double locking handcuffs, I had this for quite some time and I don’t think I’ve ever showed them on a video but I think they would be good in a vest like this and actually I’m going to be looking for the—I think they’re nylon, I’m not sure. The plastic zip cuffs because those are a lot more lightweight.
In here, I have some field dressings, this is like a Swedish field dressing, its army surplus but it’s still completely sealed, so it should still be completely sterile. You can find this kind of things at army surplus stores. Another thing I have is quick clot, if you get shot; this is going to be your best friend. I know I showed it other videos but some of you guys might have not seen it, it clots your blot. If you’re bleeding really badly, this will stop the bleeding. I’ve heard that burns like hell but its better than dying of blood loss. In here is the small—just the very basic first aid kit, it has some dressing and pain relievers, gauze, alcohol pads, different basic first aid items.
Up here, I have a collapsible baton and this could be used for a lot of things, breaking window glass, car glass if you need to rescue someone out of a car. It can also be used for defensive purposes, you could definitely knock somebody out with this and you could actually kill somebody with this if you know what you’re doing but this is a very useful tool that have collapsible baton. In this pocket I just have a couple of snacks, a couple of power bars, its good for energy, they have a lot of calories and carbs and good stuff that you would need if you’re in a combat type environment.
Here I have some—actually I have two of them but this will just represent all the batteries for my different things. You got to have back up batteries for your flashlights, your gun lights, everything. If you have a radio, walky talkies, you’re going to need extra batteries for sure and I like this because this came in a neat little container, which is pretty cool. And this pouches on the two sides are identical, they’re big, really big pouches and they both have snap locks and adjustable closures. Here I have power cord which I always talk about I know but its such a useful item, it barely weights anything. It just can be used for so many things; this is break free lubricant for the gun, just so to represent the gun cleaning kit that I still have to make. I haven’t made one yet but I will be making a small kit to put in this vest to clean my guns when necessary.
It’s very important that you keep your guns clean, even though I’ve heard the AK you can dump in mud and it will still keep shooting for you. This is the book that was in last video, it’s the survival of Asian and recovery US issued manual and again this has all kinds of good stuff in it. Survival, evasion and recovery techniques, all right and in this little pocket I have a girdle multi tool, can flip the pliers out of extremely valuable item to have in any situation. And the compass, so you need a compass, this is the back light goes on the glock. This is a glock 19 by the way for you guys that don’t know, another thing I want to stress too is that I’m not claiming to be an expert on this stuff however I do know a little bit about it. But there’s always people that know more than you about it.
And I definitely acknowledge that and like I said, the items I’m showing you aren’t set in stone, I’m still working on the vest, adding in and removing some of this items. These are just some examples and some of the things maybe you would want to add to your vest and this is by no means the best setup or best out there. Everybody has their own opinion about it; I’m just sharing my opinion and ideas with you. Maybe it will give you some ideas, I don’t know but this is a police scanner, a very valuable tool to have. You can listen to what's going on, it has weather bands on it, and you can get the weather.
This particular one is dual trunking, so some police departments are switching to that, its like a—I don’t know a lot about it but the channels switches from different frequencies, so in a conventional system you wouldn’t be able to hear it. On this you can, this also has marine, airplanes and different things so—on this vest there’s also a little secret pocket that you can put an important papers or a map or something and that’s what I have in there is my map. And some of you might have seen this also in another video, it was in the additional bag out back items video and this is a map of my surrounding area. I ordered this from mytaco.com, you can customize it, and you don’t have to go with the old grid system. You can enter any house or any area in the center of the map and it’s important to know what's around you.
Where your certain resources are, where places to stay away from and I would definitely suggest getting a map like this to have with you at all times. You can use it with your compass to find out where you’re going and there's just a lot of good information on it. This cost me about $16.00 and it’s definitely worth it.
So this is the back of the vest where you can put the hydration ladder. There’s some zippers and stuff and it has an opening with a Velcro thing up here so you can run the hose out. The thing that’s bad is there’s no real attachment like on backpacks to clip the hose on like the back where the bike valve is of the hose. So I would have to make something but I’m probably not going to use the bladder like I said earlier. I’ll just maybe keep this nothing in here or put whatever. I’m not sure yet and on the bottom there’s also a separate compartment starting here down with a zipper that you can put other items too. And of course, one of the most important reasons for the load-varying vest in the first place is for holding extra ammo and magazines to keep your weapons firing.
