Hi! I am Kevin Ames and I am at Photo Shop world in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a commercial photographer and I am really excited about photo shop CS4, and I wanted to give you some reasons that I can hardly wait to upgrade.
First, and it is worth an upgrade for the entire suite as far as I am concerned, it is Camera Raw Five. In this version, the Adobe engineers have really hit it out of the ballpark, and I want to show you just one feature that makes the upgrade worthwhile.
We have seen in camera raw the ability to vignette an image we have lens Vignetting ride along. The problem is that when you apply a crop to an image, there is no way that that vignette is going to work. So let us fit this in the window with the crop, let us make it a little bit bigger, and now, there is a tool called post crop Vignetting. So I can bring the vignette in and I can also shape it. So, I can move the mid point around just like in the regular vignette but here is where it gets exciting. Roundness, by bringing the roundness all the way down, I can create an effect like a window. So all of a sudden, I have got the ability to soften and harden the edges and really concentrate the viewers vision on the image. And by being able to do that right inside of Camera Raw, I saved a lot of steps in Photo Shop and it is completely none destructive.
Post Crop Vignetting is just one feature of camera raw five that makes the upgrade to Photo Shop CS4 well worthwhile. We have also got lens corrections, as well as the adjustment brush for making areas brighter and darker including saturation and color and sharpness. So, if I want to go in and just sharpen Virginia’s eyes, I can do that. We have got graduated filters for adding gradients for any of these features right here, so Camera Raw alone since it is none destructive, meta-database editing, is a compelling reason to upgrade the photo shop CS4.
