Penang was the first British settlement in Malaysia and it is one of the country’s major tourist attractions. It is also called the Pearl of the Orient, no doubt, because of its beautiful beaches, although many of the unspoiled ones are also very hard to reach.
George Town, the capital city, dominated by the [foreign language] is exploring very Chinese city which retains plenty of character including the old shop houses.
Food is plentiful. In the evenings, a visit to the hawker stores is advised. A few colonial buildings remain are the most striking buildings on the Chinese, the houses which have all made highly decorated rooms.
The inside, in here also are mostly gold. A little while out to the city is the Pure Cloud Temple generally known as the Snake Temple due to the number of snakes that inhabit it. Most of them, I hope, safely minimized.
Another temple is the Kek Lok Si, the largest and one of the most beautiful Buddhist temples in South East Asia. It is dominated by a seven storey pagoda. Its octagonal base is Chinese, the middle Thai, and the crown, Burmese Architecture. It was built in the 20th period from 1890.
