When I go to play, I am going to muffle out the top strings, these guys. Okay and that is going to give you another percussive effect. So here is my chord and here is my power chord. Yes, as I was saying this is about bar chords and power chords, so now you will see that I am going from bar chord and I am slowly transitioning to power chord which will then rock out and then we will run another song. Let us write another song next week, it has been awhile since we have done, I think it has been three months. Let us do next week starting Monday, let us write our own song again. That is going to rock out; it is going to rock your socks off. Plus, we are so much smarter then when we were three months ago and we are so much cooler.
So okay, let us keep on going on with this. So, that when I go and play this right here, I will take this top three stirrings and I will just kind of muffle them using my first finger, so there is my first finger and notice that I am slowly going to lay it over my strings as the first two strings are open. You will get that sound and I do not know if you like that sound, you want this sound, so now we can strum.
We are going to do write a song next week, I just coded it out. You like the new banner? Yes, awesome. Dude you like the new logo? My names are little bit small; I can always make it big on my note. I will enlarge the font, I am sure you do not mind.
Let us play this chord and let us mute out, let us vocal out these strings right here and notice how I am playing every string. As suppose to as if I did not muffle this, it will sound horrible. You might be looking for that sound, you might want that sound, you might be feeling it a little bit. There are times when you want that sound; there are times when you do not want that sound. That is the idea, so what I want you guys to do today is that we are going to learn songs, it does not have to be power chords, it does not have to be distorted, it does not have to be clean, it does not have to be arpeggios, it does not have to be anything. What it has to be is that it has to come from here; it has to come from here, your heart. I want you to write a song tonight and make sure that you use that technique. Try and block out a string on the bottom using your first finger and then try maybe making up another chord and blocking out the strings on top and seeing what works.
Now also another cool technique that I will explain since we are all on the topic of muffling strings, you can do it using power chords. When I go play this A major chord right—
