Female: What should I do with my pets if there are no co-shelters in my area?
Lesa: If there are no co-shelters in your area and you know this to be true and you’ve made no
previous arrangements to shelter your pet anywhere else, like the pet friendly hotel, or friends or
relatives that are nearby or even farther away, if you can drive away, if there’s no way for you to
get your pet anywhere else, you may have no choice but to leave the pet in the home. We urge
people not to stay with their animals, as this may, you know, be certainly a life risk to them, but
if they choose to do so, we can't, you know, we can only advise people not to do. This is why it’s
so important to plan ahead and have a plan, so you’re not force to make a really tough choice like
that.
