Shalom! This video is about the (foreign language) Jews were there 2000 years ago. Well, there were a lot of different groups but to make it simple with focus on the main four. Now, pharoses have a rotten name for many of the world for Christians especially because of the bad badjur of cavitations and words associated in the New Testament.
But, actually they are brilliant religious thinkers who have changed Jew religion forever including Christianity because Jesus was a (foreign language) so who are they? Well, first of all you have to explain the sages.
The sages where the group responsible at that time 2000 years ago when the second temple still stood for the sacrifices that was the aristocratic most people believed the priestly class maybe the ones who actually thought they are fulfilling God’s will best but offering the sacrifice.
At the same time, hundreds of years before the second temple are destroyed in the year 70 there were another group of Jews who were more interested in studying the Holy Scripture, the torah and praying.
That was the group of pharoses who became the rabii some of the things are differentiated the pharoses from the sages where the sagesis did not believed in the oral law. They believed only in the written law.
They also did not believe in after life. They thought once we die, we die. Those are some of the basic principles and again they thought the most important thing was sacrificing animals to God.
When the second temple was destroyed in the year 70 by Romans that was really the end of the sage influence, they have no more sacrifices to offer and although traditional Judaism continued to pray for the restoration of the temple sacrifices were no longer the means.
A famous statement by the rabii at the time at 70 said, “We have means thus justice application and sacrifice” there was a third group at the time who were basically solvent. They live in the Dead Sea community, they thought some ways Jerusalem is too holy to live in.
But, they do not seem to be male according to the consensus especially at Professor Norman Golb. The people that authored the Dead Sea scrolls, it turns out now that Dead Sea scrolls are probably a library collection because some of them contradict each other.
But, the group of that was there, and some scholars believed that John the Baptist was unseen that the negative feeling of some of the New Testament about the body comes from the arsenic influence. The idea of the denial of any kind of bodily pleasure comes from those groups of people that took the laws and have put impurity very seriously.
The final group that we need to mention was the Zelus the people that continue to educate for political and religious freedom could born out of the mackabenian spirit. These are people that led the interactions against Roman 70 they led the interaction against Roman 132-135 which both ended disastrously.
That was the Zelus influence, the idea that they have to fight and protect theirself which of course the spirit is always alive in cultures and exist today and the idea of Israel needed to be self independent and powerful enough to stay. Today what we have left, we have a little bit of influence of each but, of course Judaism in the main became forbidden Judaism following the pharoses which focused on the best way to serve God through prayer, studying of Torah and deeds of loving kindness.
To learn Jewishly, to live Jewishly and to love God and their fellow creatures hope that was a good explanation of the pharoses the sagesis, the ascenes and the Zelus. Now of course today we dos not have any of those groups by name. Jews today are divided.
