In the first five episodes in this series, I showed you how to fix your photos using tools like exposure and red eye removal. Now, comes the fun, Picnik has some great tools to help you add cool effects to your photos.
Click on create, this is the effects section. Here, you can instantly add effects to your photos. I’ll just go over a few of this. So, you can instantly change a color of photo in the black and white then you can change the color filter by dragging your cursor over the color box. You’ll notice changes immediately in your photo. You can also add a painting effect here. Just choose a brush size, brush hardness, strength and then you can do something like make this part of the photo have color and you can reverse it by checking this box. In order to save these changes, click on apply but for the sake of this video so I can show you more effects, I’ll probably hit cancel after showing each one.
Boost allows you to give your colors a boost, just use the slider to choose how much. Soften will give your photos more of a soft look and you can choose the softness strength as well as the fade size. You can make your photo look like infrared film, a style called lomo-ish that looks really cool; HDR-ish and all of these have settings within them to allow you to customize them. There is cinema scope which is one of my favorites and you can choose to either remove the letter box. There’s even 1960s to make your photo look aged. And then there’s gooify which will allow me to do something like make the water look more wavy, change the shape of these rocks and change the shape of the boat.
Just check out all of these as they’re fun to use and can make your photos look great. Just note that if they say premium next to them then you can try them out. In order to save your photo, you’ll need to pay for premium account.
Thanks for watching and don’t miss the next episode in the photo editing tips with Picnik Series.
