You can do whatever you want here. It is strange. Even further, something that they got so crazy about is my girlfriend, Angela, was telling me about this class she took, Music 301, where they are looking at really crazy places that music is going. Apparently, they got one piece where they have a piece of fur on the piano attached to some paper, and then you have to pet the fur in some weird way. That is supposed to be a song, one way or the other. With butterflies, you tape the cap off the butterflies and you let it out in the hallway and you can hear butterflies fluttering, and that is music.
I guess it could be music, but it is way out there. It is not my cup of tea, I guess. I like the more traditional stuff. I think they got it right in List C. That is where I think they really hit the hammer. They got it exactly right. But of course, everyone has their own chord differences.
You might be thinking, “What about the modern music now?” 50’s sounds and stuff like that. What they are doing is not new at all. Basically, they are taking new sounds and new instruments from digital stuff, but they are using chord progressions and tones from way back. They are going back in time and taking basic musical aspects and just pumping it out onto some thing and adding some layer. David Rip—Pocket balls and Cannon. I am sure you saw the pocket ball, right? That is just an example of how much Modern music is influenced.
They just copy stuff. “Oh, this is a good chord progression from this popular piece. Let us take this, change the rhythm a little bit and add in a different beat” and there we go. They got a new hit song just like that. What they are doing is not exactly inventive. There are some artists who try to learn new things. They are going on with music in different ways but more or less, the hit songs you hear are not modern music.
How I see it is music originally was very structured and very simple. Everything was straightforward and very robotic. It just kept getting crazier and crazier. They just added more liberty and pushed the envelope a little bit farther. It is like math. After that, it is 2 + 2 = 4, and at the end it is (Demonstration), you got all these symbols going up your way and makes everything complicated. It gets crazy, eventually. The most advance math now appears to be crazy. That is a lot of what music is like. It is simple at the beginning and at the end it is so abstract.
I hope that was interesting. I hope you liked my new camera. I will be making more videos, now that I have something to shoot with.
If you have suggestions, be sure to pass them along. I will do those suggestions if I think they are good ideas and I get enough of all.
Take care, happy practicing, and I hope you are doing better at piano now. If you are new to this video, go back to my earlier videos because I think this might be a little ahead of where you might be at, at the moment.
Take care and happy practicing. See you.
