Steve: Well Allen your home is really coming along, its quiet impressive.
Allen: Well I appreciate it, its not quite finish they are still working on it but the same holds for the garden, and we are not yet quite finish with the garden either but
Steve: I don’t think you are always referring to the garden.
Allen: No, I'm not. I am looking for ways to change things and try new plants. This is a bud we put in Steve, I'm pretty excited about it, I think I may have gotten too excited about it because I pack these roses and all across here and I may have gotten them a little too close together. What do you think?
Steve: You know Allen I think they are a little close especially in your climate they look like they are on about 30-inch, 36 centimeters and you could go four feet here easily and they will be happy, get a little bit more air circulation probably a denser fullage canopy. So I hate to say it but you might have to dig some holes.
Allen: When I do that after it, when are going to have good prompt and good dormant. You know they were so gorgeous when they came, they were in full bloom and just the color away of the frost here was really expactacular. You know Steve with this entire project we have tried to go green and we have succeeded and we also tried to create an old look we followed the 1840s great model but the cooler the house is great as it can be with all the modern conveniences and you know I think that with roses we have tried to do the same thing. I'm a big collector of antique roses, as you know but these represent I think some of the best genetics and some of the greenest roses around.
Steve: Well this will actually build when green was just becoming the hot buzzword of no matter word they are. The genetics behind the entire knockout family all have one purpose. I’d say three different purposes. Flower power I mean it doesn’t matter how this systems are planted but you know if its not really giving you a lot of flowers, disease resistance because that’s been something that is kind of a bean of rose growers especially in this hot black spot prone part of the world where we are living.
Allen: Yes, we got it.
Steve: Yes, we got it but they don’t have it and that’s a long or something you don’t have to worry about down here outside the blue rock but when they are hurting as most constant and they are most on top.
Allen: Yes that is great, so the green component here plays in the fact that we don’t have to put any chemicals all in the course.
Steve: No chemicals whatsoever.
Allen: WE are organic here so they fit in beautifully.
Steve: You know I kind of joke and say I’m not your business, I get the stuff for free but I'm not going to plant a rose that I have to pour sulfur and I'm going to plant any kind of plant that I have to pour sulfur, I don’t really care.
Allen: Well this have spoiled me because the fall edges so beautiful all of them and you know with some of my antiques they’ll get powder and mildew, they’ll get black spot, they’ll fall in, they may come back and they are okay but this really makes such a beautiful presence in the bud and I'm mixing them with some bubbly else when I add some things in this bud eventually but the idea here from the designers stand point was to get this hedge along here as an ever green and then whatever goes in this bud can be the deciduous. It just goes dormant in the winter and then in spring it will be just loaded with color.
Steve: And more I think you are after a great start, I don’t think this rose, this pink knockout have been in the ground for more than three weeks may be four weeks at the most.
Allen: That’s right.
Steve: You can see that there are as the petals, the flowers are maturing the little red shots right underneath your next flash of thanksgiving pleasure flower.
Allen: That’s right and here we are in mid October and we’ll have bloom here. Excellent.
