Hey guys! DJ Ty for agiprodj.com, today we are checking out some of the cool features on the Pioneer CDJ-800MK2 CD turntable. This baby will play CDs, it will play mp3s off of CDs, it's going to touch sensitive job clatter. Two ways, clatter sensitive on the top and you can also bend with the wheel on the outside, a whole another video.
What we are doing today is we are checking out looping, some of the looping and the beat chopping features that the CD player has. So I have got in and out loop punches that I can do, press the End button and the Out button. Let's say, I totally butchered my loop and we will punch another one in now, I can adjust that by pressing Out Adjust. By moving my wheel on the outside I can change my frame, I can make it awful, see how awful that sounds. Sounds alright, press Out again and my loop is active.
Cool thing about these auto beat loops and the choppers on the side, I can do this out, half again. If I want to reengage that loop I just press this button again for re-loop. Remember its right up at top and so if I exit out of there, press this button again for exit. It does numerous things depending on where you are in a loop. I can go back and re-loop, kind of a cool trick that you can do with this. So we are punching in out a little loop here, now you saw me do this in the intro, I press out again for out adjust and watch the center of the wheel. I am going to grab the outside edge.
You guys have seen all the big house DJs will do that as a little breakdown and mix into another song so that's pretty much it. That's looping, real time loops, you can re-loop, real time chopping.
