Pitching Up in the Strike Zone - Dennis Long

Let's talk a few minutes about moving a ball around the strike zone. We have a kind of no man's land right through here, kind of like between belt and the chest, that's a pretty powerful place to hit pitches. Guys, okay that's what they call the old wheelhouse, where that batter will sit here in a ladder height fast ball, that gets at everybody, okay. What you have to learn to do is kind of get at the above that no man's land for you. Your no man's land in here land is in here, you want to try and get it up here right down on right in the eyes of that hitter. It's amazing the power of that high fast ball; it's amazing the power of the mind of the hitter. They have that imprint. They love to sit back and hit that ball as hard. So if you kind of show them a few fast balls and it takes practice. After spending many years of try to learn how to throw low to try to here your coach tell you high, it takes time.
