Planning a Nigerian Engagement Party

how would I know if the event or wedding planner is a legit person and not a scammer? are event and wedding planners and their businesses listed on the BBB site?

can any wedding planner be trusted when it comes to the confidentiality of this special time in one's life? my main issue here is, if this person or any other planner will end up behind your back posting the events of your special day w/o your permission via social websites like facewbook, twitter, etc. and also have the nerve to compare your special day with his/hers. ref to the drama or none thereof that occurs. does a wedding planner practice ethics? I want to know before I hire anyone to plan my event. how do I find out these things, who do I talk to? email or is there a website of some sorts that will allow me to research more about a wedding or event planner's background, ethics and customer service ratrings?

how would I know and be certain if any wedding planner would not compare his/her wedding to mine? especially in this day and age of the inernet. I mean by posting stuff about my wedding having more drama than the planner's wedding etc.

does the association of bridal consultants post a list of their members who are wedding planners? their credentials, experience etc?

Is there a way to find out the experience of the wedding planner and if they have a portfolio of the work they have done too?

can wedding planners be trusted? If I hire one to plan my wedding, how would I be certain that the wedding planner does not babble what went on in the wedding via the internet, meaning do they practice client/planner confidentiality?
