Wedding planning for the budget bride. Here are some ways to keep your big day special but also in financial perspective by cutting cost in the little things that actually add up to big savings.
1. Plan well in advance. Set a date that allows you enough time to keep aside some extra money just for the wedding.
2. Be organized. Set out all lists of things you would like along with cheaper alternatives for everything.
3. Venue. Try an all-inclusive-package offer for a price within your budget. Research this aspect of your wedding well. It is where you can save a huge chunk which is why it is very important to plan well ahead.
4. Guest list and invitations. You do not need an expert to tell you that the more guests the more expensive the wedding cost will be. Consider having a small intimate gathering of just close family, relatives, and friends. Do not feel obligated to have a plus one option for your single friends. They will understand. Replies can be done via email. This would cut out the RSVP portion of the invitation.
5. Flowers and decorations. Have small flower arrangement and decorations tastefully done so that they can do double duty at the ceremony and reception.
6. Food and cake. Have three courses rather than five. It is also often to cheaper option to have a buffet. Buy a small wedding cake and serves she cakes of the same flavor for your guests. If you are going for the elaborate tiered cake, you can cut out the dessert table or have it plated and serve for dessert.
7. Photography. Hire a photographer for the main ceremony and only a portion of the reception to get formal shots with the family. For the rest of the party, keep cameras around to capture candid moments in guests. If you have a handy cam, get a friend to film certain points of the ceremony and reception so you can give the videographer a miss. At the end of the day, you have a good time, have moments and memories that will last you a life time and this is something you can not put a price on.
The other things are small details of the day and will palling comparison, so do not fret if you do not have the grandest wedding, because you will still have those wedding stories to tell, things to laugh about, and memories to share in you anniversaries.
