Male1: So I had to turn down a potential patient you know you just feel that this is not somebody that you want to perform a procedure.
Male2; Well, someone who says they want a perfect result you know someone says, “I trust you…” it is important to have trust in your physician, but it is not just the trust. It is the understanding that I am human, you are human. There are a lot of variables that involve in healing and surgical or the procedure itself. There is no such thing as perfection. Someone who comes in says that you know they were their boyfriend or there significant other always wants to have bigger breast or it is a very iffy area with someone--
Male1: I am trying to put myself in your shoes. I am just imagining, because I have clients that will come in and if I feel and I will educate my clients, I will spend as much time as needed going through, you know the case and the possible results. And if I feel that their expectations are nowhere near reality, I would rather tell them honestly that I probably can not help them. I can not satisfy them. And I am putting my self in your shoes and I am just imagining if I feel their expectations are not just going to be met, then that foreseeably is going to be an unhappy patient down the road.
Male2: Well, you mean I--

Male1: That phone call being about an unhappy result, which is nothing to do with malpractice and then, who wants them to deal with that.
Male2: Well, I go back to my general surgery training. I remember my trainer use to tell me that the definition of a good surgeon is one who knows when not to operate. So that is the most important thing and whatever field of medicine you are, it is a choosing the correct patient to do the procedure on. It is a--that will save you many, many head aches down the road. You have to be realistic and you have to be honest--
