Plastic Surgery – The Truth Male1: The economy was going out, the economy with—it affects your business. Male2: Yes, it affects it in the sense that people who were kind of, well you know, I would like to do this, then we see they are not as many. But people who have thought it out and really want a procedure done were not being affected to the point where some industries, other industries maybe affected. I mean, I have read through some of the trade magazines and some of our professional generals that breast augmentation has been down. We are not seeing this much. No. Male1: No, and you think that is a testament to your practice? Male2: Well, I think. You know, as I practice on that—(voice overlap) I think it has a lot to do with, people want to look good—(voice overlap) right, you know, I mean, you have heard the story of people who are in so far in that and they drive, you know, an $800 a month least. So people want to look good and I think they will always want to look good. Male1: And you think, they are always willing to pay for that? Male2: Yes. Male1: You know, they say, you have heard the expression that money is the root of all evil and then there was someone who once said, for the first time somebody looked down into the water and saw his reflection and then turned and look to the person next to him and he realized that this person looks different than me. You know, that is where it all begun. Why is my nose look like this and not like that, and it is very interesting. I mean, where is it going to go? Male2: Look who is going out? The Paparazzi and this one is quite in top list and this one is in her bikini over here, just look that is a slob reason and you know people worship the lives of celebrities and now the choosing of the celebrities and that you can not get away from that now and they always want to be look like them and be like them and live they carries it through. Male1: The most important thing and with dealing with the patient or in any business that you do is communicating with your client. You have to communicate. If you do not communicate and you need to impart the knowledge, a lot of people will walk in and they and they will think that, you know, I want to look like this and you need to educate them that it is not, you can not look like that. I want to, (voice overlap) 6’5” and 280 pounds. It will not happen. Male2: It will not happen, I know. And it was interesting because again, tying a business together, very often I use the phrase, you know, I can only tell you the truth, I can not tell you what you want here, I can only tell you the truth, and that you know somebody they have a case that is worth a million dollars and it is not, I have to tell them, you will never going to get that kind of money here. It is never going to happen whether you have me, you know, the best way you can find—and you guys if you have met that psychology, you know, there is a woman who maybe is unhappy in life, in marriage or whatever and feels that she is going to fix something or maybe just a woman does not like to—she is aging and think that she is going to go back in the way she did 25 years ago. Male1: It happened many times. We will have someone who comes in and they have an unrealistic expectations and I will say, I can not do this and they know what they want. They want and they will find somebody who will do it. And then we see that patient six or seven months later--- Male2: They need revision, they need help. Male1: Right (voice overlap). I have the same problem, that a client come back, you know six months later because an attorney told them something and this is very unhappy. But you know what, you stay honest, you stay reputable, you do the right thing and--- Male2: I put my hand on the pillow everynight. Male1: Me too. Shake to that.
