Hey, welcome to piano lesson number 5. how to get off today, so that they just make another one today, because I just released piano lesson number 4 last night and my boss is like, “Oh yeah we do not have their control file today, so we do not have any work until Black comes in and so, I got the day off.” So I was like, well I will make another video.
Today, well, last-last meeting we learned about the staff and stuffs, like what note and way they are, how they correspond with the keyboard. So if you just start with classes video, I would probably go back to the first lesson and start watching from there. So you can find that by going to like my channel and look in back in my videos, I guess if you do not know how to do that.
So, let us just get right into it. Today, is, would we look at that, is not that pretty? Okay, today is note values and notes. It is not like fun. So let us start with the easy stuff. First thing we are going to do is, I am going to show you what the differences is and the notes are. I am only going to explain the first four notes because that is pretty much all you will need for the start of this.
Whole note; this is the most basic note I guess. It is the first note and all it looks like is a really big circle or a small circle. It is just a circle, whole length circle. Okay, got that? Good.
Half note; it is a circle with a line. I am drawing this example because the line goes up, but also with some certain rules applied they can, the line can go down like this. But we will get into that later. I just wanted to make things simple, so that is a half note. It is a circle with a line.
Quarter note; it is a circle with a line that is full down. Circle at a line and then fell in the circle. And then you will have a quarter note.
So, what we are going to add for the next one, we have already drawn a line. We have put in the circle, now we are going to add a tail. It is a circle with a line full down and you add a tail.
And then I have this OR here because when you come into the sheet music, after there is 2 8th notes together, that will usually join them together like of us. The 2 circles fell down with the line and then we will have like a kind a bridge connecting them. So that is an 8th note. This is a quarter note, this is a half note and that is a whole note.
So, now you know how they look like but what do they do, alright.
