Playing Soccer - Shooting Low vs. High

Tamir Linhart: Hi, I am Tamir Linhart, owner of Golden Boot Soccer and I am here today to teach you how to score goals. Once you get into a scoring position, you have to make a decision, should you strike the ball high or low? There is no one way of doing it. Many, many goals are scored in the upper part of the goal, many, many goals are scored in the lower part of the goal. But something to think about, when you look at the goalkeeper from your point of view, from your eyes, from your height the most open area of the goal is the upper part of the goal, but the thing is, the thing that goes into the net is the ball.

So, from the ball's point of view, the open part of the goal is actually the lower part and that's sometimes easier to score. Another thing is that the keeper has to go down to save the ball, that takes time which increases your chances of scoring a goal, when you strike it low. Again, this is not the only way but something to think about it.
