This is like a finger in the hub and how we can apply like other things maybe we look in other examples I am sure about that. Okay, the main thing trying to say here is fingering is very flexible, you can change fingering to whatever suits your own hand and what it feels very comfortable. What you wanna be doing is getting an efficient use of your hands. So, that means, doing it use as less as possible as you toss and press as possible. You do not be stretching in awkward positions. Sometimes it can be at help but that’s what you going to do. You basically go with the music and you will figure it out. So now, it is time for me to take my little camera of the tri pod here. Okay, so let us turn. And eliminate the music a little bit. Okay so, the title of the piece here is Penguins, it is by Linda Myrer. She is composing in British Colombia here actually. She is really cool actually. So, as you can see it right here so is called like a wild name in kind of a sun. It is written in A flat major. I do not want to go into 10 months but basically what we have got here. Now, look very closely, you see, I do not know if you can see that but there is a 5, a2 and a 1. So, they want you to use your 5th finger up here, your 2nd finger here and your 1st here. Now, why do you think they want to do that? Okay, so in fingering our general rule is we want to do as little like if we have a note here (music playing) and a note here (music playing) and a note here (music playing) We do not go like doing like these, that’s not very efficient. This maybe the best finger and foot but you also have to be thinking what comes after that. What if you have to hit this note. (music playing). So, this note is longer the most efficient. This would be (music playing). What if after that you are coming down like here, what will you do? I will probably come over here and use my second finger (Music playing). There is different options you do. You well always be thinking in the contracts of the previous notes that you played and the note that you will actually play after you play that note. So, whatever note you are thinking about the note that you came before and the note that comes after. What you wanna do is set a nice flowing kind of finger pattern that actually matches the way the note are going. Now, show patterns are really good for this like a lot of his stuff. Like the minor off (music playing) like it just (music playing) it is really belt real good for some good. Its got like all this finger patterns and like you do things like this. Like you are doing 4, 5 (music playing). So, like you are coming here and you got here 5, 4, 3 2, (music playing). Let us see how when you do this (music playing) it looks like how it suites the finger patterns there right. There is basically I am getting to get through. It feels like sort kind of weird topic here. How do we ask a couple of time, how do good fingering? It is basically like. You look at the notes and you divide what will fit your hands a buzz. Now, if you have a note here and a note here a note here and here and here. You just want to lay your hand over so it is nice. You will not put your third finger if you are going to play all here. You put your thumb on the sea, because that way you can reach all the way out there without having to move. So, its about being lazy trying to get the most key without having to move. Kind of trying with the like watching TV or something. You want to put all the chips and the debt and everything really close, you do not have to lean over and move and anything you know you just lay it all around you and like, now I do not have to move. So, if you do have that kind of mentality where like the lazy man mentality where you want to do everything easier with less effort. That will help. So, the reason why they actually have done this, it is good to know your intervals for this because like if I am looking at these G and I see the C. These is a G and C a theft, this just means that will be one note per finger and the D is just next to The C. See with what my hand here (music playing) Now, there are things that I could not done that, would have been more awkward like I would have gone 4 3 2. there send kind of strips. This is what your hands missed (music playing)
Now, the next part right here. Now, look at this they got 2/3. This is the 3rd and these is the 3rd. Like the interval apart. So, now what they have it in here is 1 3. So, the bottom number is actually goes to the bottom note and the top number goes to the top note. The bottom number here is 2 and the 4. So, that is the way they want to go. The want 1 3, 2 4, Now, why do they want to do that? Well, if we look down here. The notes they want you play these 2 notes going to be this 2 notes, and they sort have an upward motion as you can see by these faces here. So, if we have to connect them it is the best, it is easiest to play stuff like these, right. We do not want to go like(music playing) something like that…
