Okay, we got bass amp, mid and top. We can if we want to because there are holes in the bass amp and in the mid top. We could have a small pole. If you could imagine a pole at that height in relation to my fingers, then what would happen is that the pole would sit in the base amp and that mid top would be a lot higher. Now, I did a gig yesterday and I actually had this on the stage. The reason that I have that, I was quite happy to have that on the bass amp is because the stage was quite high and the mid top, the high frequency hole which is there was elevated high enough to go over people’s heads. If that is too low, you will find that the sound will end up to be muffled because high frequency needs to travel. Bass will basically go anywhere but you need high frequencies to be able to be head height to enable them to travel.
Now, another way of setting up the speakers is as follows. What I am going to actually do now is that I am going to pause the camera and I am will to give you an idea of what you can do. Hold tight.
Now here is the other way, now first of all, you can see there that that particular mid top cab is still on the bass cab. I want you to imagine that that cab is like that one over there on a tripod. Now as you can see at the moment, we have two bass cabs together. There is a reason for that, I will explain in a second. So, just imagine that that particular speaker is sort of in that corner doing exactly the same thing. Here is the question, why did I put those two bass cabs together? Like said, basses are only directional. Also, it is a lot less more difficult to distinguish left and right where bass is concerned. But, if you have two bass amps, ideally if you can, if you put them together like that, you will actually get more bass. Now, I know that this does not sound much but you can actually increase your bass by about three decibels. Now, that does not sound a lot. But that could be in essence almost twice as loud. I know that that sounds a bit bizarre. But, these guys will start to work in tandem. In each one of these, there is 115 inch ___. Now, you can buy cabinets which are made basically, you have one box and you have two drivers in that one specific cabinet. There is another way of setting it in cabs.
What I am going to do now is that I am going to turn it on and possibly rattle the building. Hold tight. [music playing]
All right. I have got it. What I am going to do is that I am going to mess around with the amplifiers tuning down and up so you can hear the difference between the bass by itself and the mid and top by itself. Now logically, that is playing through these little speakers here that is going through the system so you are not going to hear the true sound but hopefully, I will give you a general idea. So, I am going to slow this into little tiny bit. Here we go. [music playing]
Now, what I am going to do now is that I am going to turn off the mid and top. Now, that is the bass amp. I am going to turn that up a bit. Do you think that it is rattling? Now, I want to turn the bass off which just has the mid and top one. I will turn that down and turn the mid and top up. [music playing]
Now, what I am going to do is that I am going to turn the lead of it and top on and I am going to slowly increase the bass. [music playing]
There you go. I hope that that is giving you a general idea. Any comments, questions or anything at all, video responses, check them underneath. And what I will do in the description to the side of the video, I will give you all the relevant information to the actual gear that I was using. Practice and enjoy. Thank you.
