Volkner is an electric type gym leader but he does not necessarily use electric-type pokemons. His Ambipom and Octillery are normal and wider. So, those two are not even electric type so you need to have a little bit of diversity on your team. You just cannot get away with using your ground types like megabite. So, let us see how this battle turns out. It should be a fun one.
Okay. Get through the gym. You simply press that, then you press that, and then you go through the next room and then you press this, I think that and that and then you go over up the steps, press that, turn that, and go over here. Then coming through this room, press this button. And, come down here. Way up here, press that, press it again, go through the electric thingy. Go way up here. Press this, and then you can come way back here and take on the gym leader. As always, I recommend you save and make sure you know you’re pokemon.
And then, let us go.
He sounds really enthusiastic. Let’s do this.
Volkner, electric type gym leader squares off with a Raichu. Yes, not fun. I know it has light screen, I think. He puts some artilleries in, I remember that. It is not too hard if you have to go with an electric type, but it does have I think slam and some other moves. But, not too much trouble for Kibble. Next stop, his Octillery and this calls for Rose Pedal. And, I think this Octillery does know a couple of electric things. I think he knows fire blast unless I am thinking of something else and I know that it knows bullets. It has a really wide range of attack so you really need to be careful for it. It is quite a strong pokemon and you might not expect it in your first time through the game because this is an electric type gym and Octillery is not electric. Kind of almost like it is the wrong gym. He should be in crasher or weights gym.
Next stop, Ambipom. All form of Apom. This calls for our first battle with good old Shadow Bolt. Now, that has been trained up to level 45 and knows close combat and some other good stuff. So, I had burp break ready in case it tries to use the light screen. But I am just thinking of these close combats. Ambipom does know that stupid nasty attack so you might want to watch out for that. But not too much trouble for good old Shadow Bolt. Kind of a really gym for me. I did not expect that this could be a little bit harder than this. I mean, for a top gym leader, I though this could be a challenge but the Elite Four should not be too much trouble for me. I probably going to have to train up to about level 55 or something. I am going to have to probably be doing a lot of training.
So last up is his Luxray. I used on before on my team before I did the walk through and it is a pretty strong pokemon. Watch out for it. I think it might work out pretty good because then, you probably would not use a potion.
And, it is level 49. By this point of the game, I consider myself to be under leveled because I never fight any of the wild pokemon or anything. It would be good to be about level 50 by this point of the game. I am probably going to train level 50 before I go to Victory Road and probably 55 for the Elite Four because I do not want to like be redoing anything. I am not taking chances.
Well, I am glad I thrilled you sir.
Okay, you are starting to scare me now.
A final badge is now all ours and it lets us use water fall. He is also going to give you TM57 which contains the move charge beam to a special attack that may raise special attack. It is a really good electric type move. I think most of his pokemon know that move. So, we finally got all eight badges and there only is one thing left in our path and that is the Elite Four. So, our next location is crossing the sea to victory road.
