Being able to walk well around the pole is an essential part of pole dancing. Walking around the pole is the link between tricks, poses and moves, but it is also a dance move in its own right.
Place your inside arm high on the pole and take a small step into the pole. Lean your weight outwards so that you are pulling out from your arm and start to walk around the pole.
Your hand will naturally slide down the pole, so just place it high again. Hold in your tummy, lift your shoulders up and back and as you step, exaggerate the movements so that your hips sway.
Here is another walk that looks great and is relatively easy to get the hang of. As you step, bring your knee up in front of you while keeping your foot tucked in behind. Trust the pole and allow yourself to lean out from it.
Now for the step and drag. As you step, allow your back foot to drag along the floor behind you. This can add real sensuality to your movement as it forces you to sway your hips.
Let us see this again.
