after the first strike you should disarm. any kempo fighter will stab you while you try the rest of that move. other then that well executed

Thank you for the helpful video. Im female, 31, and like to walk nature trails with dogs alone. I plan to get a baton, and even though watching is not the same as doing and practicing (perhaps can entice husband with non-baton stick for practice) seeing videos like this one helps me understand what to do if an attacker were to come at me.

Police Tactics: Baton Defense Against Knife

Baton Versus Knife I have got a 21 inch ASP baton, he has got knife. We have opened it up. You know that we have got range and all I am trying to do is basically any weapon that comes out, I am going to take a piece of it, if I am not ready to do anything and I am not ready to commit and control him, anything that comes out here. I am just going to -- work and using the range of this weapon verses that. Or, when I get inside if I can hurt him, he is already too deep, he hits me, all I am going to do is basically damage the arm and this is going to tap obviously. I mean, I am actually trying to break the bone or at least hurt him and make him drop the knife. On the way through and it's middle strike with my weight. Now I have hit the inside of his leg. So now from here, one, two, all you have to do is grab around his neck. Sometimes you will get under the arm, sometimes you will just get the neck. It doesn't matter. Use the length of the shaft, and I am going to pull him and rotate -- away from me.
