I am going to take advantage of the heat of the day and do some pond Maintenance. Any successful Parma culture garden includes some aqua culture. I have around a 7000 gallon pond here which I have stock with some native sand fish and that will give me about 300 pounds of fish a year.
For my pond maintenance what I am going to do is to put some BT, this is going to kill the mosquito larvae and the Chinese moth larvae.
Now I’m going to use some barley straw pellets and what this is going to do its going to raise the Ph level of water making it a really good environment for our fish.
Next I am going to use some Barley Straw Pellets and what this is going to do it is going to raise the PH level of our water making it really good environment for our fish. Next I am going to use some beneficial bacteria these last two products are both from the Microbe Lift Corporation and they are amazing to get this crystal clear water in your pond. The beneficial bacteria is going to seed my filters and get rid of all those harmful nitrates and ammonias. Mmm, smells like rotten eggs but that actually means it is good and you have got some beneficial bacteria in here.
So now I have to clean my filtering fountains, I am just going to jump right in. The fountain I have has a filter attached that houses the pump. I also have a biodynamic filter. The water is pump over the lava rocks. Lava rocks clean the water by neutralizing it. I hose down my filters on my lawn which helps fertilize it. My pond filters need to be cleaned out regularly when they are in use.
I am done here for the day just in time before the rain starts. So thanks for watching I am Patti the garden girl from farmersalmanac.com.
