Poor Credit And Mortgage

What if I have poor credit? Having poor credit or bruised credit doesn’t automatically disqualify you from getting a mortgage but what it can do is make it much more, much harder for you to get a mortgage. It could increase the rate. It could reduce the term of your initial mortgage. So there’s a myriad of things that could be affected with having poor credit but the most important thing to remember is you can clean your credit up. It might not be as quick as you would like and it might take you cost a little bit of money to get it taken care of. But the one thing that I found over the past 15 years is when I work with clients that actually take the time to get their credit cleaned up, they turn around and within 60 to 120 days, we’ve been able to get them into a mortgage.
