I am going begin the selection on seeding by playing the Classical air guitar because I have no guitar on my hand and I am going to hold my hands and just play in the air like this
(Demo)
Sort of like Funky weep Winkerbean does in his comic.
I am going to put in this position that I like. While I play in the air, I probably hold something like this.
(Demo)
Is that I want to be able to across the strings easily like this,
(Demo)
Or, if I have not be a person of cross by sliding his arm up and down, I want to be free like this,
(Demo)
I want to be able to play in the first position, comfortably and then reached out when you are playing in the upper positions, would that having the lean way over or do anything like that.
And if I playing the air guitar, I would never play like this work,
(Demo)
I mean you would not think about or drop down like this,
(Demo)
I would never play like this or lean way over to the left and to the right. You know I would set more or less straight up and I have relatively level shoulders. No hunches on either one of the streams punches on either shoulder and I play like this,
(Demo)
This is the position that I want to get into when I play the guitar.
Now, I am going to demonstrate the seeding with the old fashion foot stand but the same principles applied to the tripod at the cushion. I am going to play some foot stand a little to the right at a left front leg about a foot out, I got it on the mid-range position to start with.
I am going to take my guitar on hand here and I am going to sit on the chair. I am going to sit up front. I am not going to sit back here. I am going to sit up front of the chair and I am going to place my left leg on the foot stand so that the leg is perpendicular to the floor.
(Demo)
I am going to place the curve of the guitar on the left leg.
(Demo)
I am going to drop the right leg back as I do and the guitar is going to rest on this left leg and on my right thigh like this.
(Demo)
I am going to place my forearm below the elbow on the guitar
(Demo)
And have it look over this way but rest my lower forearm on the guitar below the elbow so that my hand touches toward the back of the sound hole.
Now, lean forward just a little bit and supporting the guitar on four places, left leg or right thigh, chest and forearm and notice when I am in this position, I can pretty much get to the strings anywhere I wanted.
I can cross like this,
(Demo)
Or if I wanted people likes to cross by sliding the arm, I can slide my arm very, very easily. I can reach this,
(Guitar Demo)
First position very comfortable, I can reach up here the highest position,
(Guitar Demo)
And play without having the lean over.
My shoulders are relatively straight,
(Guitar Strumming)
Straight across okay and have total access to the guitar as I have total control if the guitar, it does not fall and I put my hands are free to play and I have total access to the strings with the finger board and strings in both hands.
This position seems to be the best position. I have used a tripod or cushion. You have to adjust the ways a little bit but this is actually what you want, just like on playing the air guitar.
