Post Production: Editing, Music and Visual Effects

Male: I, along with almost everyone here, I think I am going to sign me with trouble. [Laughs] Everyone did an excellent job. All of you are very vital and I do not know what would happen without you guys. So I think that everything went to this— Male: I prepare this but I forgot what to say. Male: My fair speech. Male: I really tried to sneak. And it went really efficient. We did what we came to do. Everybody did a great job, like Andy says and then like both of you would stay later on. And even though the hours were tedious and we film the storm. I really enjoyed the experience and I would not give it up right now. Male: So I think the shoot went very well and especially the second weekend because we are on schedule on the whole weekend. [Laughs] What is really nice for me as a director to be able to take like a lot of the good shots that I wanted? I think the best part of this project was really—the production was this is working with the people and I mean that you are around with so many people just for like I mean we have 14 hour days. And we shot for six straight days. Male: Yes but one thing I want to interrupt and say that when I was really impressed is with you guys ever see the extras and compliment them because I was like so respecting half of them like two. And then they are all like sitting there like oh my god. [Laughs] Male: Yes, first it is pretty hard working with the cold weather and such. And it is little frustrating into like, I guess, making well at this like special effects and make ups. Especially like some of them — I just kind of like, what the hell am I doing? And it was a little frustrating at first but like when things are work, I think everything is all fine and I feel great. But then when things like, some things did not work or did not go as planned, it really feel frustrating. I really felt that I let myself down. But tomorrow — I have let like everyone and the crew down. Like maybe later on like when I maybe like five or like more years down the road and they all feel like. I feel that for the time that it was a pretty good job and that it is something that I cannot be proud off. Female: And realize that the initials of Lost in Zombieville spell this. [Conferring] Female: Andrew actually pointed out to be in advance, yes, good faith. Female: I had an amazing time in the shoot like everyone else and I am already going to the zombie withdrawal and zombies are demanding you when you are in. And I think everyone and the crew was demanding when you are in. And I learned so much on this set like seriously tripled, quadrupled, million times, times of a million with my knowledge. [Laughs] Male: Right now, I am editing on the final cut. We are on the minor media which is at Davis. It is a resource that is available to students and I am on here, you can see it on an Apple G5. There is a double screen, we have a 24 inch and we have a 20 inch which is really nice that really helps in the editing process. You can see that I have about 30 different layers of sound and I had it looks like button nine layers of video and each of this are kind of essential. I have been editing probably for a few months now and at this moment, I am where the girls pick the sign. And I am trying to find out the best way to edit that particularly, there is a certain kind of a comic effect that I am going for which requires like the right kind of timing and I guess I am just editing that right now. [Conferring] Male: Oh, you are going to pluck. Male: Yes I am getting pluck. Male: I need you to hold down that pedal. [Demo] Male: So, part of the whole editing process is making sure that everything looks good and basically anything that went wrong during the shoot. We had to actually fix and post and that is what we call visual effects. This is an example of a visual effect this is something I did. This particular shot was actually filmed twice in two different angles.
