Power Source Mobile Mini Tech Review
Alright guys. This is the Power Source Mobile Mini by Xantrex, the XPower. So this is a semi-sleek back up battery with very nice design. I think it only comes in black but it’s very nice. It fits in your pocket but I guess it’s kind of oversized. It’s a bit thicker than my iPod Touch but of course it is shorter. It is wider as well but thickness, it’s like this.
Now this will charge your iPod Touch, any Blackberry, your iPhone, anything that charges with USB for sure. So basically, to charge this thing itself, it comes with a wall charger. This can be use with anything that uses a USB. For example, this is my iPod Touch cable. I can connect them and it will charge up my iPod. It comes with two of this so you can charge this device and your iPod Touch or Blackberry or your Razr or your Rokr at the same time so it’s a great little device. It’s like a wall charger.
Now, the next piece that this device comes with is the charger itself. Here is the charging cable which works with your computer. It can work with the computer or as with the AC wall plug. So basically, you just plug it in and it will charge. Now like I said, it will work with the iPod Touch, anything that works with USB. This little device here will charge Blackberries, iPods, some cell phones, the PSP, the new Motorola such as the Razr and the Rokr.
Basically, there is a second USB port right here and this cable right here. So as you charge your PSP, Blackberry, Rokr or Razr you can charge your iPod, your phone as well as long as you have the USB cable. To turn this device on is not as automatic as just plugging the cable in. You’ll have to press this button and there will be three different light, green for high power, orange for medium, bluish and red is for almost dead.
It has a very bright blue LCD that can lit up the room. Basically, this has a 3 AMP power lithium-ion battery pack. So it should charge fairly quickly and it will definitely give your iPod Touch a full charge which I’ve tried before.
Now, this is pretty special. It has three protection features. One is the over temperature protection. If it heats up way too much, it will shut down. Next is the low battery. It has about 2.5 volts of battery left, it will reset and if it’s overloaded too much through charging or discharging, it will reset, shut it’s self off.
It comes with a one year warranty and it can be charged with standard wall outlet, a vehicle or your computer. So basically, this thing is fairly cheap. It’s $23.00, the last I checked of a electronic reseller so definitely get it. It’s $23.00. It will charge your Blackberry, excellent for traveling, excellent for business. Every time you’re low on power, put this and charge it right up.
One downside it that you can’t charge your iPod while you’re charging this so you can not put it into the wall plug, plug it in and then plug your USB into the iPod. But you could use both of these. They give you two. One of these will usually cost $12.00. They give you two. So basically two of these are already $24.00 but they throw this in. Why wouldn’t you buy? It’s $24.00 for an excellent product. So see you guys next time. This is the PowerSource Mobile Mini by Xantrex, right? This is Travis from Gadgetstrix, very common observer. See guys next time.
