Freestyle Dribbling
Okay boys, now what I want you to do is just dribble the ball freestyle, anywhere inside this grid that you are all in right now. Ready, play.
Very good, very good. As you are dribbling the ball, I want you to really make sure that you have close touches; everything is very close, its a tight space, its very crowded, and should be just be very, very close touches. We are trying to dribble the ball in such a way that we do not run into each other. So we are always looking for open space to attack, always looking for open space to attack. Our head should be up, our knees should be bent, so that we are ready to explode into those open spaces.
At all times players should be looking to change directions; just practicing changing directions; one of the most important skills in the game of soccer. Also, changing pace. Sometimes you might go slow, you might go slow, then you see an opening and then you sprint and get through it at speed, sprint and get through it at speed. Well done, well done, keep playing, keep playing, excellent.
Now feel free to try things. You don't want to run into a partner, but it's freestyle, anything goes; you can do any moves you would like. Ready, and work at it, work at it, work at it. You have got about ten seconds, and rest.
