Hi! I am Rich Hogan from the Whitetail Golf Resort and today's video is on how to teach you to swing the golf club properly. We are going to do a little bit of review. We are going to go over the pre-swing routine. Pre-swing routine takes in the consideration the grip, the stance, and setup.
First thing we are going to do is make sure we have our hands on the golf club properly. There are three different types of grips. The 10 Finger grip or Baseball grip, an Overlapping grip, or the grip that I like to use is an Interlocking grip.
After we get the hands on the golf club properly, we need to get the body position setup and get the ball positioned in the stance. Stance is important with the majority of our clubs, we are going to play the ball in the center of the club face or the center of the stance. We are going to take our feet and separate them until their shoulder length apart. We are going to flex our knees as though we are sitting on a windowsill. We are going to then at that point just bend at the wait until the club hits and rests on the ground.
Well, the important thing is here is making sure that our spine angle is set properly. The way we are going to do that is we are going to just allow the hands to feel as though they're dangling underneath the shoulders or underneath the chin in order to be in the proper position.
Once we get the stance setup, then we are going to position the golf ball depending on the club that we are going to select with the driver, a longer golf club, we are going to play the ball a little bit more forward in our stance, taking the ball off of the left heel with a driver, and then with an iron bringing the ball back more to the center of the stance, so the ball position could change up to three ball lengths. Next thing we are going to work on is the follow-through into a good finish position.
