Paula Ross: Hi! I’m Paula from Andy’s Parties. And today we’re showing you how to
plan and execute a wonderful Halloween party for your kids and there
friends at your house. And so we’ve already covered a lot of the basics
and so right now we’re going to cover all the desserts for Halloween’s is
the most fun part. The kids always come to your house expecting a lot of
sugar and lots of treats because it is called trick or treating for a reason.
So, we’re going to show you how to make some fun home made treats that
your kids can even help with.
What I have in front of me are a few assorted items, we have some ghosts
that that are made from butters and melted white chocolates and sprinkles
cone stones made from Milano cookies and melted dark chocolate with
some icing on top. And now I’m going to show you how to make the
orange icing to pipe out. I think it’s easier to make your own orange icing,
good chocolate. I think it’s easier to make your own orange icing when
you’re trying to buy the store about kind because it’s soft and hard to
make this store about kind work on such a small space. So, what I have
here is just your basics everyday creamy vanilla white frosting. I’ve made
sure this is room temperature; if you have some refrigerated make sure
you let it set to room temperature before you start storing it. I’m going to
get a big spoonful and put it in the bowl and then we have a food coloring.
Take a little bit of yellow and a little bit of red about equal parts of the
yellow and red and you can adjusted as necessary to get the hew of orange
that you want. We’re going to mix this up and see what’s happening here
it’s becoming orange, not hard at all.
It’s time we take our handy dandies snack size in the black bag like that
we used in the previous segments and we’re going to scoop some of that
orange icing right into the baggy. Try not to get on this upper part because
it’s won’t close very well. Close at the back and we’re going to try to put
all of the icing down until one corner. Make have to open the bag just to
little to its some arrow. And see look that up, this is a way to decorated
you’re using things that you might commonly have on the house. You can
also get the icing bags that the professionals used at the bakeries at the
grocery store and those are easy to use as well but this is just as you see.
Then we’re going to get our scissors, we’re going to snip off the edge, I
can that all, I can’t it to cut, they’re we go okay. And then set up really
small parts so that the littering will come right. I already did this; I will
show you on the other side how easy it is. Where is going to take our bag
and we’re just going to make the letter, R-I-P, very easy.
Now this icing more hard enough like the melted chocolate does. So, you
want to make sure we’ve leave it out right and it doesn’t gets smudge.
Okay, now you can use the same orange icing to decorate your brownies.
Hey, with both my hands here, okay. Now, here I have a few brownies and
I store about these brownies but you can easily make your own and we’re
going to use the same orange icing that we made to pipe on a spider web.
To do a spider web, you take the icing we make a line around the edge
coming to a point in about five places. Make a smaller version of that on
the inside and then a dot in the middle. And then we’re going to take a
fork and we’re going to run edge of the fork from the middle outward on
all of those points. And they’re you have, what looks like a decent spider
web. Now, to do the spider we make a big dot in the middle and then we
make eight legs coming out for on each side and then we have a spider and
then to do the skeleton, skeletons are little more hard. I’m going to make
an oval the circle underneath, a little smaller than the oblong blending
together a little bit to make the head of the skeleton and then to make the
bones underneath we just to a big X like that.
And then to make the eyes, we take a little dab of our melted chocolate
and we can do it at the fork. And we’re going to put a melted chocolate
right on top of the skeleton to make the eyes and the nose and if you want
to do a crimpy mouth you can do a crimpy mouth too and there is our
skeleton.
