Kevin Simpson: Hello, my name is Kevin Simpson. I'm the Director of Animal Behavior and Training for the Washington Humane Society in Washington, DC. Today, I'm going to answer your question on how to introduce a newly adopted dog into your home. We’ll discuss everything from how to prepare your existing dog for the newly adopted dog survival and also how often you should be feeding your dog. Please keep in mind that animal behavior is both complex and contextual in nature. Some of the advice that we’ll be giving in today’s recommendations may not be suitable for every pet. Before we get started, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’ve been training dogs for approximately 25 years, both professionally and as a hobbyist. I have had the privilege of working with dogs both in the service industry level and also with the public sector working with dogs with aggressive concerns to search and rescue. Currently, I work with the Washington Humane Society initiating and designing programs that celebrate and promote the bomb between humans and animals. Today we’ll be discussing how to introduce a newly adopted into your home, so let's get started.
