Chris Crowley: Again, the quick 40 pounds did not look cute. We act different -- I am a little depressed too.
Dean Edell: Like many of us, Chris Crowley noticed he was getting older.
Chris Crowley: I have the full panoply of normal American age which is not so hot.
Dean Edell: More and more research points to exercise as the key to keeping body and mind young. While many consider walking enough exercise, but latest research says, it may not be adequate.
Bob Simon: You have to educate them. That's only one component of fitness.
Dean Edell: Strength training can add measurable benefit.
Bob Simon: We take them two times a week for about 45 minutes. And research says that you can gain about 75-85% of the strength gains in that period of time.
Dean Edell: And there is a bonus for the brain too, as exercise creates certain chemicals in brain connections, that are only achieved through physical activity.
Bob Simon: To increase their ability, their mobility, increase the interaction, cognitive, both physically and cognitive interaction with their grandchildren, with their children to have their life more meaningful.
Dean Edell: Chris says, it changed him.
Chris Crowley: You have to do this, if you exercise six days a week, that is the great touchstone of feeling good until you are dead.
