Veronica: Hi! I am Veronica with watchmojo.com and today professional skateboarder Sean Malto tells us why skateboarding is not just a sport, it's also a lifestyle.
We are just inside. Before we saw just a whole bunch of ages, different types of people, what's the atmosphere like in a skateboard?
Sean Malto: Skateboarding is kind of like who you are, I guess. So there are a lot of different styles and age ranges. You know I've seen forty year old guys just skating around and I think that's awesome and hopefully one day I'm there and you see little kids just starting, so it's cool, it's a whole range of people and it's just for the love of skateboarding, I guess.
Female Speaker: Do you think skateboarding is a sport or more of an exhibition?
Sean Malto: There are some sportive things about it like gathers contest, this, this, and this or that, but personally, I think it's kind of more of a lifestyle.
Even when I am not skating, I still talk about skating. It's just kind of a part of wheel, I guess. And like even driving a car and even like seeing like benches or whatever, you are always thinking about like skating.
Female Speaker: So do you want to see it in the Olympic stuff or do you think that will change the whole lifestyle and culture of it?
Sean Malto: As for me, nothing is going to change this for me. And I have been doing it for so long and I planned to do it for as long as I can. Like a lot of people are kind of that skeptical and how that's going to do, but if it's in there like at least, it's growing, at least it's doing something. People are recognized that it's like an awesome thing. I wouldn't be mad at it.
Female Speaker: Now if someone were to pick up a skateboard for the first time, what advice do you have for them?
Sean Malto: I mean just like with anything, playing the guitar, whatever you want. It's going to be hard at first. Stiffly, really frustrating, even it's frustrating now and sometimes you know, just one of those things that you are going thought like it's not going to happen as fast as you wanted to, but as long as you just stick with that, it turns into something awesome.
Veronica: Oh! Thank you, very much. It's great to having you Sean.
Sean Malto: Yeah, you are welcome, any time.
