Processors and Memory - Xbox 360 features
Now, it wouldn’t be fair to talk about the Xbox 360 is the next generation console they’re talking about some of the next generation graphics this thing offers.
Now, I’m going to rewind a little bit here just to put something in perspective. If you consider the original Xbox, it ran over the 733-MHz Mobile Celeron Processor and this system had 64-megs of a round.
Now, anyone who’s played the original Xbox noted that of three systems that in our generation, it is the most powerful. Graphically, it could do games from Doom to Half Life 2, to Halo 2, fast forward to the Xbox 360. And with this Bad Boy has under the hood is a 3.2 GHz Power PC processor.
Now, if you consider that the original Xbox has a 733 MHz processor, go to a 3.2 GHz processor. It is quite a leap in terms of graphics but it doesn’t stop right there. This hasn’t have one but this is three 3.2 GHz Power PC processors in here. As long as that the system is 512 Megs of system memory, 256 of that is devoted to graphics card and the other 256 is devoted to the system memory.
So, if you’re taking to account essentially the X financial with the graphics and the system power of that this offers it’s really the sky is the limit when it comes to actually developing games from the system.
