Product Review - Blackberry Curve
Alex Fees: Blackberry chooses the 2009 consumer electronic show on Las Vegas to throw customers a curve. Shelly Sofer Public Relations Director for Research in Motion makes the pitch.
Shelly: One of the new things that we launched here is the new Blackberry Curve 8900. It will be available from T-Mobile in a February timeframe and what’s really exciting about the new curve is a twist on the classic curve. Great form factor, it feels wonderful in your hand. It’s much, much lighter than the previous curve. It’s the lightest full curvy Blackberry that we have and it’s also the thinnest. It’s a very nice fine profile. We’ve also beat up the computing power in it. It’s a 512 MHz processor. It means, in addition to your email all the multimedia that you do it’s a lot snappy or it’s faster.
We’ve boosted the screen resolution as well and in addition to the multimedia capabilities there’s obviously 3.5 mm headphone jack and that’s standard for all the good headphones and stuff. We’ve also boosted the camera. There’s a 3.2 megapixel camera on here. It will also record video and you can record and store pictures all your music on the device itself plus there’s a Micro SD card slot and it will accept up to 16GB micro SD cards. So you got plenty of storage to take with you.
Alex Fees: At the curve counter Blackberry faithful anxiously await details on the latest evolution of what can only be called a multitasking communications device. Blackberry Curve could take the world by storm.
Dennis Laborada: I like it. It seems it’s more compact, slimmer and also the resolution’s a lot better. Sometimes I don’t have my digital camera with me if I got to take a picture send it to a friend. I like something that’s going to give me as good of quality as a regular digital camera. I’ve seen it’s been a central part of my life. It’s going to revolve everything I can do. Everything instead of having to be at my computer I can do it from my help.
Alex Fees: For more information on the new Blackberry Curve, go to Blackberry.com/newcurve8900 that’s the model number. The price on the other hand has not yet been set.
Blackberry customer John Yoo is also familiar with another smart phone. So what’s been your experience iPhone versus Blackberry?
John Yoo: A Blackberry heads down. For me, I’m typing email all day and I can't stand a touch screen. It just doesn’t work. It doesn’t work for a business at all.
Alex Fees: Touch screens that iPhone.
John Yoo: Yeah that the iPhone has.
Alex Fees: The Curve same Blackberry, new attitude in Las Vegas at the consumer electronic show 2009, I’m Alex Fees for SBTV.com.
