Mario Armstrong: This is Mario Armstrong at the International Consumer Electronic Show and right now you're hearing me on the Motorola ET7 Speaker Phone System. Standing right there is Chapin Kaynor. Chapin go ahead and wave to the camera. I'm going to come around now and to interview Chapin.
Well, that was pretty impressive. So I was around the corner, I called your phone and this is your phone and no wires and it was connected to the device, right?
Chapin Kaynor: That’s right.
Mario Armstrong: Tell us why this is really an impactful device you think for small business owners like, what can they benefit from something like this.
Chapin Kaynor: It’s a great solution for small business owners because what it provides them with is a dual solution for listening to music when they're not on a call and then if a call comes in the music pauses and take the call, you finish your call, the music starts back up automatically. So, you can use this as a speaker phone in home office and it’s a great if you need a conference call or if you’ve got people coming over to work with you. It’s great for a small office or home office setting.
Mario Armstrong: So, Bluetooth was the wireless connection between the device and the handset but you can also plug a hardwire from your phone into the device if need be. What’s the price tag on something like this? Before you answer that, one of the things that I really do like about it though for a small business is flexibility. It looks small enough that I could actually take this with me on the go.
Chapin Kaynor: Absolutely. Yes, so you can take it with you to meetings. If you need to, you can take it for presentations. You can use it as a speaker. You can line it in to your laptop and you get a big sound out of a portable speaker for presentations.
Mario Armstrong: See, that’s the key. You know, how many of you used your laptop or you go on site, you're doing a big presentation and the speaker is on your computer never do justice for your presentations. So this gives you an actual option to plug that in as well as a speaker phone capability. I think this is great for the traveling executive that’s on the go.
Chapin Kaynor: Absolutely.
Mario Armstrong: What about hotel rooms?
Chapin Kaynor: Yeah!
Mario Armstrong: You never have a speaker phone. It really sounds good in a hotel room.
Chapin Kaynor: Yeah! I take it with me when I travel and use it on hotel rooms and for presentations. It’s great for both of those applications. And I use it all the time at home to listen to music and if I get a call, the nice thing is the music mutes. So, I don’t miss a call if a call is coming in.
Mario Armstrong: Alright, so let’s hear how good it is on the music as we close out. Now this is a hundred and seventy-nine dollars.
Chapin Kaynor: Yup!
Mario Armstrong: And that’s available now?
Chapin Kaynor: Yup! It is.
Mario Armstrong: Alright.
Chapin Kaynor: And what I'm going to do is I'm just going to line in the music so that we don’t get any interference here at the show.
Mario Armstrong: Right. Because you could do this Bluetooth but there's so much, you know, technology going on in the International CES, there's all types of things going across the air. So he’s going to go direct to the device. You’re polling music up off of his phone.
Chapin Kaynor: This is just going to show you what this sounds like with its -- tuned acoustics.
Mario Armstrong: It’s Mario Armstrong at the International CES 2009. I want to thank you so much hanging out at the Motorola booth. This thing sounds wonderful. So, you know we got to do?
Chapin Kaynor: What's that?
Mario Armstrong: We have to kick it. We have to rock out to this music. Are you going to do this with me?
Chapin Kaynor: Yeah!
Mario Armstrong: We’re going to do a Motorola dance right now. Alright, we’re going to do it, ready, one, two, three, a Motorola dance, the Motorola dance. You small business owners, this is what you can do if you have that heavy call, after that heavy conference call and you need some release, this is how you let it loose. So, Chapin Kaynor from Motorola, thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate it.
Chapin Kaynor: Thanks a lot. I appreciate it.
Mario Armstrong: Still more to come right here on SBTV. Mario Armstrong, your small business tech guru. Don’t you dare go anywhere, there's still so much more productivity, reducing cost, save your money, help you market your business, all the hot technology here at CES 2009. We’ll be back.
