Public Transportation to the Los Angeles Airport

Guide to Getting Around Part 28 Air Now let us take a situation where everybody could use public transit. I am talking about going to the airport, that is the time when you know you are going to be away from your car. You have to leave it parked somewhere and public transit could be the solution. Because of what I regard as deliberate acts of omission on the part of our public transit agencies, the Los Angeles Airport is one of the places that is not served efficiently by public transit. Instead, that job is less to four-profit commercial enterprising. Their higher fees discouraged people from using them and the result is more traffic at the airport, and this is the regular scheduled bus from Ventura to the Los Angeles Airport. It costs three times as much as the metro train to Los Angeles and only goes to the airport. Folks, this is an underused transportation resource. It took them some serious work but they managed to find the location in Ventura and a location in Oxnard that are not effectively served by public transportation. This hotel is the stop in Ventura, I have to admit there is a nearby bus stop but I have made the connection and this is got to be one of the most obscure locations in the entire system. Their other stop is at the Oxnard Airport. How many of you know there are regular scheduled airline flights in the Ventura County? Now, try taking a local bus line to the local airport. The nearest stop will leave you about a mile away. That is a long way with luggage, and here is where you end up at a distant outpost at a far end of the valley. The west side of Los Angeles is one of the more difficult places to reach using public transportation. But we already have buses coming to the airport. Why don’t we combine our interest and serve both the west side and the airport and there are other scheduled buses that pass to our community on a regular basis. If they could make a stop or two, they could pick up additional passengers. Serving our community and in a commercial sense that would mean revenue.
